Annie Edwards College and University Advising provides educational consulting and college readiness assessments to rising 9th through 12th grade students and their families with a focused concentration on the necessary tasks involved in the university search and application process.
Mission
Provide up-to-date college counseling services to student applicants and their families.
Vision
Provide a service that provides personal one-on-one attention to a limited number of students for each admission cycle.
Purpose
I endeavor to work with families who have neither the time nor the energy to do a competent job of the college search and application process and would like to not engage in negative conversations, nagging or stand-offs with their teenage child. I have worked with teenagers for nearly four decades. I have a friendly, direct, no-nonsense approach. I reassure parents and after an initial meeting, I work alone with the student and provide structure and guidance so that each designated task in the college application process is reached before tackling the next one. I serve as the advisor while the work is completed by the student. This includes preparing and submitting college applications, writing college essays, submitting documents on time, asking for teacher and counselor recommendations, filling out financial aid forms and notifying me, their high school guidance counselor, and their parents about college and university decisions-acceptances, waitlist, and denials.
