Services available:
1) Assist high school students with the college search and application process.
2) Prepare for the advising appointment.
3) Suggest high school curriculum choices, review applications, essays, resumes, and transcripts.
4) Help formulate the standardized testing plan and schedule (PSAT, SAT, PLAN, ACT, TOEFL etc.)
5) Help student research, create the college list, and determine best fit schools. This includes recommending appropriate colleges based on the student’s academic and extracurricular interests, program and geographic research, the level of selectivity and challenge desired, geographic location, and other factors as determined by the student and family.
6) The student will then review their findings and impressions with Annie Edwards College and University Advising. The list, grouped by prospect of admission (designated as safety, target, and reach) will continue to be refined by Annie Edwards College and University Advising. The student will be responsible for investigating and visiting the schools with their parents until a final college application list is agreed upon.
7) Review, evaluate, and provide feedback on application materials including required and optional essays and the extracurricular activity section of the Common Application. Composition, grammar, and content suggestions will be made as needed.
8) Manage the college application process through the creation of a monthly college planning calendar and a college tracker with application requirements and deadlines.
9) Coach the student to prepare for college interviews and planning college visits.
10) Brainstorm and suggest teachers for college recommendations and supplemental recommendations if appropriate.
11) Meet with parents after student counseling sessions if needed or requested and payment is due according to the contract agreement.
12) Follow through with the student until a final college decision is made if this level of service is desired. This includes advising on Early Decision, Early Action, Regular Decision, Early Decision and Early Action deferrals, and waitlist decisions, as well as acceptances.
Pricing Tiers:
1. Marcy: $3,000 for 36 sessions from spring of grade 11 to December of grade 12. This is a complete college search and application package, including building a college list, essay brainstorming and feedback, application advising, and determining best fit schools.
2. Algonquin: $2,000 for 12 sessions per year (24 total) during two academic years. The focus for these two years is self-discovery and career exploration, best utilized by 9th and 10th graders.
3. Cascade: $1,000 for 12 sessions during the academic year. The one year prior to the college search sessions would be more heavily focused on making the most of the high school experience and developing personal, academic and career aspirations.
4. Whitney: $500 per student for three 2-hour blocks of individual advising.
5. Cobble: $90 per student for 1-hour block of individual advising.
